For the first installment of "Dubs from the Heart", Dubmission have selected three dub plate mixes from Dreadlock Tales' extensive archive. Originally made for sound system use, their sparse style is offset by strong melodic basslines and dynamic riddims. All the tracks were recorded in one take through an analog multi-channel mixer, old school style, with Kimmo's passion for dub running deep through every cut.
“Hanami Dub, Pt 2" is a fresh version of "Flower Viewing" recorded in 2019 for the 20th anniversary party of Dreadlock Tales, with the original released by Dubmission on "The Next Mission: Part Two' compilation back in 2012 (dubmission.bandcamp.com/track/flower-viewing)
“Designed by Jah, Pt 4” is taken from an exclusive, sold out short run of 10" polyvinyl dub plates which featured 4 different mixes of the rhythm. After heavy play and promotion on sound systems worldwide, a new version was made for a 7’’ release on Dreadlock Tales Music label which also sold out.
Finally “Baba, Pt 3” is from an exclusive digital dub plate released in 2019, with only a handful of selectors having the full project worldwide.
